Not too far up the road from Jo-Bee headquarters, our state's capital recently turned into a disaster zone. If you haven't heard by now, Nashville was struck by historic flooding the first weekend of May. Downtown Nashville and landmarks such as Opryland Hotel and the Grand Ole Opry House are still shut down due to flooding that caused severe damage.
Michelle Lamb of our sales department had family displaced by the flooding. Michelle's brother had three and a half feet of water in his home, seven feet in his barn and lost two vehicles to the flooding.
“The Nashville community jumped right in. We had about 50 volunteers the Saturday after the floods,” Michelle said. “We had a lot of support from our Jo-Bee family.”
Michelle and her brother eventually had to direct volunteers to other locations because of the abundance of help.
Here at Jo-Bee, we want to express how proud we are to our distributors based in Nashville and our own Jo-Bee family for jumping in and helping the Nashville community get back on their feet. So many families and businesses were displaced, but the outpouring of support really proved that Tennessee is The Volunteer State.
